Goals
[edit]Yossi is credited with 11 goals for Livrpool as of today by LFC's official website http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/team/squad/benayoun/ Some dumbheads here keep the number down to 4. I will not edit the right number because those dumbheads will change it back to 4 or maybe 0 or maybe -4. It's better this way so Wikipedia retains its reputation as the most inaccurate and irrelevant source of information. Giving veto powers to loonies and eccentrics with badges is a grave grave mistake. It is a shame, really. Long Live the Brittanica. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.125.9.253 (talk) 12:14, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Surname
[edit]Before the player signed for West Ham, there was some confusion as to whether his surname was Benayoun or Benayoum. Anyone know what that was all about? - N (talk) 14:13, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
- nope. yossi benayoun or yossi benayun are the only commonly accepted transliterations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.93.21.105 (talk • contribs) 18:32, April 2, 2006
Edits
[edit]Why did you delete my edit? He has moved to Livepool today! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Verjolas (talk • contribs) 21:57, July 10, 2007
- Well..., actually it was today, 12 July, as confirmed on the LFC official website this evening. --Malcolmxl5 19:31, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Edits
[edit]His number is now 11..change it to eleven. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elsul (talk • contribs) 19:35, July 12, 2007
- Hi, Elsul, thank you for your contribution. What is your source? I read here[1] that he's getting the number 35 shirt and I see that the LFC official site[2] hasn't been updated yet. --Malcolmxl5 19:44, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- It's now been updated and you're right, he's getting number 11. Well done. --Malcolmxl5 02:40, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Position
[edit]On infobox he is listed as an attacking midfielder. He has been employed by West Ham largely on the right of midfield. He would be employed at Liverpool in the same role. Should this be listed on the infobox as his position, or at least a position he prominently plays. Londo06 11:27, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Surname
[edit]Why the Arabic name of Benayoun was added? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.69.222.7 (talk • contribs) 11:33, July 13, 2007
- The official languages in Israel are Arabic and Hebrew. Take a look at any figure on Wikipedia where the Arabic translation is known, like Stanley Fischer and Amir Peretz. His surname is also of Arabic origin. -NYC2TLV 23:43, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
still,I Don't think that he would want that language of murderers and killers to be on his age in wikipedia, don't you think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elsul (talk • contribs) 22:06, July 14, 2007
- If those are your sentiments, I don't think that you will enjoy editing on Wikipedia. -NYC2TLV 04:21, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Where's Olmert's Arabic name? If you're right his Arabic version of name should be added but it wasn't added. Adding the Arabic name contacts between Benayaoun and Arabs but Arabic and Arabs have nothing (good) to do with Benayoun or any other Israeli success. So I prefer to see the Arabic name deleted, besides, I think according the statement aforementioned it should be deleted, you, as an individual have no right to determine in this like issues.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.178.89.247 (talk • contribs) 09:35, July 16, 2007
Fee
[edit]I cannot find any mention of the transfer fee for Yossi on either the LFC or WHUFC official web sites. Does anyone have an alternative authoritative source for the fee? Otherwise it is probably best noted as 'undisclosed' for now. --Malcolmxl5 02:46, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- I normally deal with the situation by writing "rumoured to be" or "reported to be" with references from the BBC and/or some reasonably authorative newspapers. aLii 08:31, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Cheers, aLii. I'll do that. --Malcolmxl5 17:51, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Pah - I hate Liverpool. Yossi is a fantastic footballer. Get over yourselves.all. Plutonium27 (talk) 20:10, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Moroccan descent
[edit]Why is he categorised as being of Moroccan descent when it isn't mentioned in the article? Spiderone (talk) 13:38, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
First Name
[edit]The article gives the name as "Yossi" in English, but the Hebrew parenthetical reads "Yosef" (יוסף). It is more likely that the name really is "Yosef Benayoun" with the common nickname "Yossi", but this is not certain. Does anyone have an authoritative source? WLior (talk) 18:04, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- He is commonly called "Yossi Benayoun" - no body would know who Yosef Benayoun is even though that was his birth name. In Hebrew Yossi is to Yossef what Brad is to Bradley in English. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 19:18, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- Exactly, it's like saying Bradley Pitt. TFighterPilot (talk) 21:58, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
